Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mainly post about my sewing projects, as I’m building a colourful and comfortable everyday wardrobe suitable for a working mum of primary school children. I really love African wax fabric, so that features heavily. I also occassionally post about family life in Edinburgh and travel. Hope you have a nice stay!

Alvin and the chipmunks Theodore kids costume DIY

Alvin and the chipmunks Theodore kids costume DIY

A quickie because Halloween costumes are always popular, so posting this even though it's not the run up to Halloween just so it's there for next year.

Ellis this year was doing a group costume with his friends to be Alvin and the Chipmunks and he was Theodore. He wore this to a party just as the normal chipmunk costume and then as a killer/attacked version on actual Halloween.

This was quite a straightforward costume with not that much handmade stuff, but still handmade enough to be cool! The tshirt we bought off Vinted. The T is cut out with pinking shears out of yellow jersey fabric from my stash, sewn on with lightning stitch. The shorts were some longer joggers I shortened, some random black tights which we shredded for the killer version. The hoodie jacket we had and the ears were bought off eBay. Blood from the enterprising corner shop!
