Hudson Pants in grey French Terry
Most of my recent sewing has been with fun prints, but sometimes you just need a good basic! Two of my True Bias Hudson Pants have recently reached the end of their life, and I do wear them a lot, so I thought it was time to replace them.
This loopback French Terry I picked for them is a little lighter than I expected, but actually that works perfectly for the pattern, less bulk in the waistband.
I made a size 14 which is what I had the pettern cut out to. Looking at it now I wonder if sizing up, or doing even more of a full seat adjustment would have been good. They're kind of a different level of looseness in the front and bag. But actually when I shared them in a Me Made May post someone specifically commented on how well they fit. In any case, I don't think I can be bothered to reprint and cut the pattern.
The adjustments I did were a small full seat adjustment, and width added to the ankle bands because if you don't use ribbing or something with a lot of stretch they're really too tight to get over your heel otherwise. I also omitted the drawstring, cos I don't really see the point of that if there's already elastic in there.
Looking forward to getting plenty of wear out of these.
