Style Arc bob pants in waxed cotton
The Style Arc bobs are my favourite trouser pattern, I keep trying other ones but they are never as good, so since two linen ones are on the verge of wearing out completely it was time for a new one.
It was (loosely) inspired by this skirt worn by Jackie of @vasitti on Instagram who is half of this really cool Australian couple wearing matching workwear. Her skirt is from Toast and it's really not much like the trousers I ended up with at all, but it reminded me that I had a whole box of waxed fabric stashed away that I won in a raffle one time, and there was some olive coloured stuff in that.
The fabric is dry waxed cotton (the wet stuff is not appropriate for clothing worn directly on the skin), I guess it will dewax itself over time. It's a medium weight fabric, though with the wax it was fairly hard to sew and I probably should have used a heavier needle. But a standard one was ok!
I made this pattern so many times before, I just used the old pattern pieces, which I think is the size 16. It's also got a full seat adjustment of some description like I always do. I didn't follow the instructions at all, they make you do the pockets a bit weirdly anyway, if I remember correctly.
One thing I did do since I took these pictures is unpick the waistband and take quite a lot out of the elastic to make it sit higher than it does here, as it kept sliding down. This had resolved the weird bunching you see in the pictures.
I think these will be great for summer!
