Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mainly post about my sewing projects, as Iā€™m building a colourful and comfortable everyday wardrobe suitable for a working mum of primary school children. I really love African wax fabric, so that features heavily. I also occassionally post about family life in Edinburgh and travel. Hope you have a nice stay!

Tencel sleeveless Davenport

Tencel sleeveless Davenport

This dress has been taking absolutely forever to make! Partly procrastination, partly I've done non sewing things on my Mondays, my non working and usual sewing days, and just a little bit of me messing up a lot and having to redo stuff. Including sewing the bottom ruffle on right side to wrong!

The fabric is a tencel twill from the Minerva core range. I adore tencel, it feels SO lovely, but this is light weight (lighter than the Merchant and Mills stuff I have used before) and slinky, and I am not good at cutting out so me and lightweight and slinky do not get on. It absolutely has been worth it, but sometimes in the middle of making this dress it did not feel like that.

The pattern is the Friday Pattern company Davenport dress, without any alterations, just the sleeves omitted and finished with bias binding instead. Size 16, same as I made before.

Key info:

Pattern: Friday pattern company Davenport

Fabric: Minerva core range tencel twill in the xxxx colour

Size: 16

That's all!
